We're always wondering about the future of hawkers, and if they would be bought over by the major food courts, or eventually lost and forgotten? In the greater scheme of things, Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore brings together nine young hawkers from six of our famous eateries today in a unique 'Hawker Heritage – The Next Chapter' promotion.
On 21 and 28 September 2013, The Line celebrates an affair of iconic, traditional hawker dishes and food culture on top of their signature array of crustacean favourites, freshly shucked oysters, sashimi and a variety of cuisines, as this new generation of hawkers prove that the hawker heritage is here to stay. Guest can also look forward to popular local beverages like Milo Dinosaur, Teh Tarik, Bandung, and The Line's own blend of Kacang Puteh.
The 'Hawker Heritage – The Next Chapter' dinner buffet is available at The Line on 21 and 28 September 2013 only, from 6:00 to 10: 30 p.m., and is priced at $78 per adult and at $36 per child.
