A Thousand Lobsters - Melt Cafe

Tandoori Lobster | Mandarin Oriental Crabs were last season; Melt Café @ Mandarin Oriental ups its buffet ante with an exclusive lobster extravaganza. Headed by newly appointed Chef de Cuisine Chef Lincoln Lim, the luxuriant spread showcases lobster cooked in a myriad of dishes.

This heavenly seafood is sure to add a nice touch to the buffet spread. Appetizers wise do look out for the Thai Lobster Salad with Glass Noodle that has mildly spicy noodles mixed with sweet chunks of lobster meat. The Boston Lobster Salad Gateaux, which has avocado, tobiko and organic cres mixed to form a pate-like spread, was another favourite I wish was sold in place of the boring tuna spreads.

With the Singapore Lobster Laksa, it sure adds a new perspective to this local favourite. Chef Lincoln adds generous servings of lobster meat into this dish, and even has strains of noodles made entirely of lobster meat. Other dishes that impressed were the Tandoori Losbter that had a mellow Indian spice to complement the lobster and carrot mix.

Lobster Sashimi | Mandarin Oriental

If you are one to enjoy lobsters in all its natural goodness, the Japanese counters feature Lobster Salad Maki Rolls and even Lobster Sashimi. Additionally, the Western show kitchen allows diners to select live maine lobsters on display and have them cooked a la carte on the spot.

This current promotion is available only on 3rd and 17th July for dinners. It is priced at $228 per person with unlimited flow of Veuve Cliquot, beers and cocktails, or $198 for the non-alcoholic option.
