Goodwood Park's Durian Fiesta 2016 (4 Mar to 17 Jul)
It's that time of the year again - yes, durian season is near. From 4 March to 17 July 2016, Goodwood Park Hotel’s famed and beloved Durian Fiesta will make its grand return!
The 33rd edition of this popular annual affair will see a spread of 13 meticulously handcrafted treasures, seven of which are new, including the superbly popular Durian Rainbow Ice Cream Cake that makes a return this year with an all-new larger version ($12 per slice, $52 for 10.5inch whole cake).
Other new and notable highlights include the Durian Black Sea Salt Caramel Cake ($13 per slice, $85 for whole cake), a decadent marriage of D24 durian and caramel, accentuated with Hawaiian Black Sea salt; and the Durian Kueh Lapis ($12 per slice, $62 for whole cake) that's buttery, sweet, piquant and salty all at once.
And if you are able to bear the wait, Goodwood Park's limited edition "Mao Shan" creations will be available starting 28 May 2017. Go for their classic “Mao Shan” Power Puff ($19.80 per piece, available only 28 May to 17 July 2016, 12noon-7pm) of an oversized choux pastry, freshly piped with "Mao Shan Wang" durian mousse, or the brand new “Mao Shan Wang” Mousse Cake ($62 for 500g).
